PlayerFirst is built by 3STEP Sports, so most parents meet it the same way: your kid joins a club lacrosse, basketball, or volleyball program, and the club hands you an app you've never heard of. Rosters, messages, payments and schedules all live in it, whether or not you wanted another login.
It does have a real calendar export — and it takes about three minutes. The catch is that it's an unlabeled icon in the top-right corner of the Schedule tab, so there's nothing to search for and nothing in settings to find. Plenty of parents conclude the feature doesn't exist.
One more thing that trips people up before they start: 3STEP ships two apps with nearly the same name. PlayerFirst Events covers tournament weekends. PlayerFirst Club is the one your club lives in, and it's the one these steps are for.
Open the PlayerFirst Club app — not PlayerFirst Events. 3STEP publishes two apps with almost the same name. PlayerFirst Events is the tournament app for schedules and brackets at a specific event; PlayerFirst Club is the one your club runs on year-round, and it's the only one with the calendar export. Sign in there.
Choose your user type. PlayerFirst asks whether you're signing in as a Parent/Guardian or as an Athlete. Either one can do this — you don't need club admin rights to export a calendar.
Tap your profile tile. A family account shows one tile per athlete. The tile you tap determines whose events you're about to export, so if you have two kids in the same club, note which one you picked — you'll be repeating this for the other.
Tap the Schedule icon in the bottom navigation. This is the tab that lists upcoming events and lets you filter by athlete, team, and event type. The export lives here, not under settings or your account page — which is where most people go looking first.
Tap the add-calendar icon in the top right corner. That small icon in the upper-right of the Schedule screen is the entire feature. It has no text label, which is why parents scroll past it for months assuming PlayerFirst has no export at all.
Copy the link instead of handing it straight to Apple or Google. PlayerFirst offers to push the calendar into Apple Calendar on iPhone, and gives you a subscription URL with a copy-to-clipboard option for the Google Calendar route. The URL is what you want — copy it rather than tapping through to a single calendar app.
Paste the URL into Schedule Caddie. Once it's in, that athlete's PlayerFirst schedule refreshes on its own alongside every other team your family follows.
Yes — 3STEP's own instructions point Android users at Google Calendar, and once you've copied the URL it behaves like any other subscribable feed:
On Google Calendar (desktop or web). Go to Settings → Add calendar → From URL, paste the PlayerFirst link you copied above, then click Add calendar.
On iPhone (Apple Calendar). Go to Settings → Apps → Calendar → Calendar Accounts → Add Account → Other → Add Subscribed Calendar, and paste the same link. (On older iOS versions, Calendar appears directly in Settings.)
That link will show you every event PlayerFirst publishes for that athlete. What it won't do is tell you when one moves. Google and Apple only check subscribed feeds every so often — sometimes a full day passes before a rescheduled practice shows up — and neither sends a notification when it does. Schedule Caddie watches the same PlayerFirst feed every day and emails you the moment something changes, so you find out from us instead of finding out at the field.
Paste the link into Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or Outlook and it works — with two limits worth knowing up front. It's an app-only flow, so you need your phone in hand — there's no desktop path. And the link follows the athlete profile you tapped, so a family with two kids in the same club ends up managing two separate subscriptions in two places.
There's no add-calendar icon in the corner of my Schedule screen
Check which app you're in. PlayerFirst Events — the tournament app — shows event schedules but doesn't carry the club calendar export. You need PlayerFirst Club, signed in with your club account, on the Schedule tab of a specific athlete's profile.
I tapped through to Apple Calendar and never saw a URL to copy
You can still recover it. Once the calendar is subscribed on your iPhone, go to Settings → Apps → Calendar → Calendar Accounts, tap the subscribed PlayerFirst calendar, and the Server field holds the feed URL. Copy that.
Only one of my kids shows up in the exported calendar
That's the profile you tapped in step three. The export follows the athlete profile you selected, so run through the steps again from the other kid's tile and you'll get a second link. Both can live side by side in Schedule Caddie.
My club has a PlayerFirst website — can I get the link from there?
3STEP documents the export only through the Club app, so that's the reliable route. If your club's site does surface a calendar link on a team page, it works the same way once you have the URL — but don't spend an afternoon hunting for one that may not be there.
PlayerFirst Club. There's also a PlayerFirst Events app for tournament schedules and brackets, and the two get confused constantly because the names are nearly identical. The calendar export sits on the Schedule tab of the Club app.
No. PlayerFirst asks you to pick Parent/Guardian or Athlete when you sign in, and the export is available either way. If you can see your kid's schedule, you can export it.
Probably not. You select an athlete profile before you reach the Schedule tab, so the link you get is scoped to that athlete. Run the steps a second time from your other kid's tile to get a second link — Schedule Caddie takes both and merges them.
Not inside PlayerFirst — it only knows about the club your family belongs to. Schedule Caddie is built for exactly this: paste the PlayerFirst link and the TeamSnap link and both land on one color-coded calendar, sorted by kid.
Copy the link from the add-calendar icon on the Schedule tab (steps above), then in Google Calendar go to Settings → Add calendar → From URL and paste it in. On an iPhone, go to Settings → Apps → Calendar → Calendar Accounts → Add Account → Other → Add Subscribed Calendar and paste the same link (on older iOS versions, Calendar appears directly in Settings).
Not from your calendar app, no. Google and Apple re-check subscribed feeds on their own lazy schedule — often 12 to 24 hours — and neither one tells you what moved when they do. The new time just quietly replaces the old one. Schedule Caddie reads the same PlayerFirst feed every day and emails you the specific change, so a moved practice reaches you before you're already in the car.
Every kid, every team, every app — merged, color-coded, and watched for changes.
