If your kid plays Little League, AYSO, or Pop Warner, there's a good chance the league website runs on Sports Connect (the platform formerly known as Blue Sombrero). It generates real calendar feeds — but unlike most team apps, the feed link is created on the league-admin side, not handed to every parent.
So this guide is honest about the three routes that actually work: find it, ask for it with the exact words that get results, or import the schedule another way.
First, confirm your league runs on Sports Connect. Sports Connect (formerly Blue Sombrero, part of Stack Sports) powers a huge share of Little League, AYSO, and Pop Warner league websites. The tell: your league's site footer credits Sports Connect or Blue Sombrero, or the registration flow does. If that's your league, this guide applies.
Check your league site's calendar page for a sync or export option. Sports Connect leagues can publish a master calendar on the league homepage (or an inner page) showing all scheduled games and locations. Look around that calendar for a sync, export, or subscribe control — whether one appears depends on how your league set the site up, so don't be surprised if it isn't there.
If there's no option: ask your league admin — it takes them 30 seconds. This is the step that actually works. Sports Connect generates calendar URLs on the admin side: an administrator goes to Schedules → Calendar → Sync and copies the calendar URL (Google, Outlook, and iCalendar formats are supported, per Sports Connect's own documentation). Send your admin exactly that sentence — most will paste the link back within a day, and one link serves every family in the league.
Add the URL to your calendar — or merge it with everything else. Once you have the URL: Google Calendar (on the web) → + next to "Other calendars" → From URL → paste. Apple: Settings → Apps → Calendar → Add Subscribed Calendar. Or paste it into Schedule Caddie, where the league schedule joins your other kids' teams and the school calendar on one merged calendar — checked hourly, with an email naming exactly what changed.
No luck with the admin? The photo route still works. If the league only posts schedules as a webpage or a printout, snap a photo or save the page as a PDF and import it into Schedule Caddie. It's a real import, not a manual retype — and once it's in, it's merged and shareable like any feed.
Paste the link into Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or Outlook and it works — and for one league it's genuinely fine. The squeeze is that rec leagues are rarely the whole picture: there's a travel team on another app, a sibling's schedule, the school calendar — and nothing warning you when they collide.
I can't find any calendar at all on our league site
Some leagues never publish the master calendar to the website — schedules live only in the team pages or registration emails. That's a league-configuration choice, not something you can change from the parent side. The admin ask (Schedules → Calendar → Sync) is still the best route; the photo/PDF import is the fallback.
Our coach uses a Google Calendar for team stuff — is that the same thing?
Different layer. Sports Connect lets coaches embed an outside Google Calendar on a team page for extras like pizza parties. If your coach runs one, ask them to share that Google Calendar with you (or its iCal address) — and see our Google Calendar secret address guide for how they'd copy the link.
A game moved but my calendar still shows the old time
If you subscribed in Google or Apple Calendar directly, their refresh cycles run roughly every 12–24 hours, silently. Schedule Caddie checks the same feed hourly and emails you exactly what changed — during rescheduling season, that difference matters.
The admin doesn't know what I'm asking for
Send them this, word for word: "In the Sports Connect admin dashboard, go to Schedules → Calendar → Sync and copy the calendar URL — can you paste it to me?" That path comes from Sports Connect's own calendar-integration documentation. If their dashboard looks different (the platform updates), their Help button reaches Stack Sports support directly.
Yes — the platform generates calendar URLs supporting Google, Outlook, and iCalendar formats. The honest catch: Sports Connect's documentation describes creating them from the admin side (Schedules → Calendar → Sync), and whether parents see a subscribe option on the public site depends on how each league configured things. That's why the admin ask is the reliable route.
Very likely. Blue Sombrero became Sports Connect under Stack Sports, and it's an official platform partner for Little League and AYSO. Your league's site footer or registration pages usually credit it.
Yes — a calendar URL is a live feed, so schedule changes flow through. How fast you SEE them depends on the reader: Google and Apple refresh on slow, silent cycles; Schedule Caddie checks hourly and emails you what moved.
Then skip the feed entirely: photograph or save the posted schedule and import it into Schedule Caddie. You lose the automatic upstream sync, but you keep the merged family calendar, conflict warnings, and shareable pages — and you can re-import when the league posts an updated schedule.
