If your school's athletics calendar used to say Activity Scheduler, it ran on rSchoolToday — which Arbiter acquired in 2025. Schools are being moved to Arbiter Game, rSchoolToday sites now redirect, and Arbiter's migration FAQ says the old rSchool iCal feeds no longer work. If a subscribed school calendar went quiet this fall, that's the cause.
The replacement is ArbiterLive: follow the team, turn on the iCal option, and the feed arrives by email. This guide walks that, then the From URL step in Google, which only exists on the website — plus the honest fine print about how quickly Google picks up the rescheduled games school sports produce every week.
Know what changed: rSchoolToday is now Arbiter. Arbiter acquired rSchoolToday in January 2025 and has been moving schools onto its own platform since. rSchoolToday team sites now redirect to Arbiter, and Arbiter's migration FAQ says plainly that the old rSchool iCal feeds no longer work. If a school calendar you subscribed to last year went quiet, that's why — the fix is a new feed from ArbiterLive, not a repair of the old one.
Go to arbiterlive.com and sign in (or sign up). ArbiterLive is the public fan/parent side of Arbiter. A free follower account is required — the public team page itself only offers Follow and Print, no subscribe link. Sign-up takes a minute.
Find your school, then the team. Search for the school, open its team list, and pick the specific team — varsity soccer, 8th-grade girls basketball. Feeds are per team, so repeat for a second kid's team.
Click Follow, then turn on the iCal option. Following opens notification settings: how you want alerts (email or text), whether you want games only or games and practices, and an iCal option that emails you the team's calendar feed. Turn the iCal option on and confirm. (Arbiter's help calls it "ICal"; the exact wording on the screen may differ slightly — it's the one that mentions emailing you a feed.)
Open the email and copy the feed link. Arbiter emails the feed link to the address on your follower account. Copy the link itself. It's a normal iCal URL that works in Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook, or a family calendar that merges it with club teams on other apps.
Open Google Calendar in a browser — the phone app can't do this part. On a computer, go to calendar.google.com. On a phone, the Google Calendar app has no way to add a calendar from a URL — open calendar.google.com in your phone's browser and use Request Desktop Site if the settings are hidden.
Add calendar → From URL → paste → Add. In the left sidebar, click the + next to "Other calendars" and choose From URL. Paste the ArbiterLive feed link and click Add calendar. If Google rejects a webcal:// link, change webcal:// to https:// and try again.
Turn it on in the phone app. In the Google Calendar app on your phone, open Settings, find the new calendar under your account, and make sure Sync is on.
Subscribing puts the schedule in Google Calendar, but Google refreshes subscribed feeds on its own cycle — typically every 12 to 24 hours — and it never notifies you when an event changes. School athletics schedules move more than any other kind, so a game the athletic office rescheduled this morning can still show the old time at pickup. Schedule Caddie checks the same feed every hour and emails you exactly what changed, so the calendar on your phone is the backup, not the only line of defense.
Paste the link into Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or Outlook and it works — and for one athlete at one school it does the job. It thins out fast in a normal week: the school feed knows nothing about the club team on a different app, nothing about the sibling's practice across town, and it won't say a word when Thursday's game becomes Friday's.
My old rSchoolToday calendar stopped updating
It isn't coming back: Arbiter's migration FAQ states the rSchool iCal feeds no longer work once a school moves to Arbiter Game. Remove the dead subscription and follow the team on ArbiterLive for a fresh feed — in Schedule Caddie, archive the old schedule and add the new link.
My district's site still links to rSchoolToday
District web pages lag behind their vendors. Search arbiterlive.com for the school directly. If the school genuinely isn't on Arbiter yet, the athletic office can tell you what they're using — and whether a public feed exists at all.
I followed the team but no email with a feed arrived
Check that the iCal option was actually on when you confirmed (it's a separate setting from the email/text alerts), check spam, and try Manage Subscriptions on your ArbiterLive account to resend. Still nothing? Ask the athletic office — schools can create a filtered iCal feed from the admin side (Settings → iCal Feed) and hand you the link.
A game moved but my calendar still shows the old time
Two reasons, both normal. Google and Apple refresh subscribed calendars on their own quiet cycle — the team-app vendors put it at roughly 12 to 24 hours. And on Arbiter, a change the opposing school proposed doesn't show publicly until your school accepts it. Schedule Caddie checks the feed hourly and emails you what changed the moment it appears.
Activity Scheduler was rSchoolToday's product name. Arbiter acquired rSchoolToday in 2025; the admin side is now Arbiter Game and the parent side is ArbiterLive. rSchoolToday sites redirect to Arbiter and the old feeds are switched off, so this guide walks the ArbiterLive path into Google.
No. Subscribed calendars update silently in the background and never notify. Schedule Caddie watches the same rSchoolToday feed every hour and emails you the change — old time, new time, which team — so a rainout or a bus delay reaches you before pickup instead of after.
Yes. ArbiterLive works in a phone browser (follow the team, turn on the iCal option, copy the link from the email), then add it at calendar.google.com in your phone's browser, because the Google Calendar app can't add URLs.
Not in Google without doing each subscription by hand and living with no color-coding or change alerts. Schedule Caddie takes the rSchoolToday feed and the TeamSnap, GameChanger or SportsEngine links in the same place, merges them into one color-coded family calendar, flags conflicts between them, and gives you one feed to put on your phone.
The ArbiterLive follow-and-iCal flow is from Arbiter's own help article (updated November 2025) and the migration FAQ, checked October 2026. The exact wording of the iCal checkbox only shows after sign-in, so it's described rather than quoted — if yours reads differently, tell us and we'll fix the page.
