When a Sprocket Sports calendar stops updating — or never shows events at all — it's almost always one of four things, and only one of them is genuinely broken. We help parents wire Sprocket feeds into family calendars every week; this page is the checklist we actually use, in the order worth checking.
The link is dead — your club regenerated the calendar for a new season
This is the most common one at season turnover. Sprocket calendar links point at a specific stored calendar file, and when a club rolls over to a new season or rebuilds a team, the old file can simply stop existing — anything subscribed to it goes quiet with no error you'd ever see. The fix isn't on your end: go back to your team's schedule page on the club site (or the Sprocket app), grab the current subscribe link, and replace the old subscription. If the schedule page itself looks stale, ask your team manager whether the season has been republished.
The calendar added fine but shows nothing — check when the season actually starts
A subscription to a season that hasn't started yet looks exactly like a broken one: you add it, look at this week, and see nothing. Before troubleshooting anything, jump your calendar forward to the season's first month (winter club seasons often start in November). If the events are sitting there in the future, nothing is broken — the schedule just hasn't reached you yet.
An ICS validator says the file has errors
If you've run the link through a calendar validator, you may see complaints about the file's timezone definition (a VTIMEZONE block missing its detail components). This is real but almost always harmless: Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, and Schedule Caddie all recognize the timezone by name and render the events at the correct local time. Validator errors on a Sprocket feed are not, by themselves, the reason your calendar is empty — check the two causes above first.
Events show up, but a changed practice time takes forever to appear
That's your calendar app, not Sprocket. Google Calendar refreshes subscribed links roughly every 12–24 hours; iPhones are similar and equally silent about it. There's no button to force it. If same-day schedule changes matter to you, that's the exact gap Schedule Caddie fills — it checks the feed daily and emails you precisely what changed.
Sprocket publishes its help center inside each club's own website, behind the login. Logged out, you'll find almost nothing on the open web — which is why searching your club's name gets you nowhere. Log in to your club site first, then look for the help section.

Yes — otherwise you may end up with a dead calendar and a live one side by side, or doubled events. In Google Calendar, unsubscribe from the old one in the left sidebar; on iPhone, remove it under Settings → Apps → Calendar → Calendar Accounts.
