TeamSnap and GameChanger on One Calendar

The fall roster at a lot of houses looks like this: soccer on TeamSnap, baseball on GameChanger, and a parent flipping between two apps to answer "what time Saturday?" Neither app will ever show the other’s schedule. The fix isn’t picking one — it’s putting both feeds somewhere that merges them.

Both apps publish a calendar link. This guide shows where each one hides, how to merge them into one color-coded family calendar that lives on the phone you already check, and how to get told when either coach changes something — which is the part neither app, nor Google Calendar, does for you.

⏱ Takes about 5 minutes

Two apps, one calendar, in seven steps

  1. 1

Get the TeamSnap link — on the website, not the app. Sign in at teamsnap.com in a browser (the phone app doesn’t show the link). Click the team, open the Schedule tab, click Settings, then Sync Calendar / Export, and copy the calendar URL. It may start with webcal:// and come from teamsnap.com, go.teamsnap.com, or ical-cdn.teamsnap.com — all fine.

  2. 2

Get the GameChanger link — in the app. Open the GameChanger app, select the team, tap the gear icon (top right), tap Schedule Sync, then Sync Schedule to Your Calendar, and copy the URL rather than tapping through to Apple or Google. It comes from api.team-manager.gc.com.

  3. 3

Paste the first link into Schedule Caddie. Add Schedule → Paste a calendar link. You’ll see the event count and the next few games before anything is imported. Name the schedule for the kid and the team (“Maya — Wizards” works better than the league’s code).

  4. 4

Paste the second link — this is the step that makes it worth it. On the success screen, choose Add another schedule and paste the other app’s link. Two live schedules is where the product starts earning its keep: this is now the only place both coaches’ changes land.

  5. 5

Give each kid a color. Assign each schedule to a family member. Every event takes the kid’s color, across both apps, so a glance at Saturday tells you who’s where without reading titles.

  6. 6

Put the merged calendar on your phone. From the success screen, tap Add to iPhone or Add to Google Calendar. That is one feed carrying both teams (and anything you add later), in the calendar app you already check. Grandparents or a co-parent can take the same feed, or a share page for just one team.

  7. 7

Let the change alerts do the watching. Both feeds are checked every hour. When either coach moves a practice or cancels a game, you get an email naming the old time and the new one — immediately if it’s within the next two days, otherwise in a tidy morning or evening roll-up.

What two feeds get you that one doesn’t

With one schedule, a calendar app is enough. With two, the questions change: do these overlap, who’s driving which kid, did either coach move anything since Tuesday? That’s where a merged calendar earns its place — one color per kid, a warning when two events collide or leave no travel time, and an email the moment either feed changes. Families with two or more live schedules are the ones who keep using Schedule Caddie; one schedule is a convenience, two is a system.

Troubleshooting

Both apps are for the same kid and the games overlap

That’s a real conflict, not a display bug, and it’s the thing this setup catches: Schedule Caddie flags events on the same day that overlap or leave no travel time between them, across both apps. Google or Apple would just stack them.

TeamSnap shows the game but GameChanger shows it cancelled

Two apps, two coaches, two sources of truth — it happens. Each schedule syncs from its own feed, so you’ll see both versions with each team’s name on it, and the change alert tells you which one moved. The coach who manages the GameChanger team is the one to ask.

The GameChanger link only has this season

GameChanger (and TeamSnap) usually create a fresh team per season. When the new season’s team appears, copy its link and add it as a new schedule; archive the old one so its feed stops being checked.

I subscribed to both feeds directly in Google and now every change is a surprise

Subscribed calendars refresh roughly every 12–24 hours and never notify. That’s fine for seeing the season; it’s not fine for Thursday’s practice moving to 6:15. Keep the Google subscriptions if you like, but put the two feeds in Schedule Caddie for the alerts.

Frequently asked questions

Why not just subscribe to both feeds in Google Calendar?

You can, and the season will show up. What you won’t get is color per kid, conflict detection between the two apps, one feed to hand to a grandparent, or any notice when a coach changes something — Google refreshes subscribed feeds silently on a 12–24 hour cycle. Schedule Caddie is the layer that adds those, and it still syncs out to Google or Apple.

Can I add a third app — the school calendar, SportsEngine, a dance studio?

Yes. Every schedule is just another link (or a photo or PDF for the ones that don’t publish feeds). The more sources you add, the more the single calendar and the alerts matter.

Does the other parent need the apps?

No. Put the merged feed on their phone the same way, or send a share page for one schedule. They never need a TeamSnap or GameChanger login.

Where exactly is the link in each app?

TeamSnap: website → team → Schedule → Settings → Sync Calendar / Export. GameChanger: app → team → gear → Schedule Sync → Sync Schedule to Your Calendar. Each has its own full guide below with screenshots and the gotchas.

How current is this?

The TeamSnap and GameChanger paths are from each platform’s current help articles and verified on-device in September 2026 (GameChanger renamed its button from "Sync to Calendar" to "Schedule Sync" this year). If yours looks different, tell us and we’ll fix the page.
