SportsEngine schedules can live right inside Google Calendar — games and practices next to everything else, updating on their own. The setup takes about three minutes, and both halves have a catch: SportsEngine moved its calendar link behind the MySE Sync Schedule button in late 2025, and Google Calendar only accepts a calendar URL on the website, not in the phone app.
This guide walks the exact path on both sides, plus the honest fine print about how quickly Google actually picks up schedule changes afterward.
Sign in to your SportsEngine (MySE) account and open the Schedule tab. MySE is SportsEngine's member-account branding — it's the account that aggregates every team and event you're registered for, not an individual team's public page.
Click Sync Schedule, top-right corner. This is the current button. Older guides describe a "Subscribe" or "Export" option on a separate team website — that route can still work as a fallback, but Sync Schedule from your MySE account is now the documented, primary path.
Choose Other Calendar, then click Copy. SportsEngine also offers a direct Google button as a shortcut, but Other Calendar plus Copy gives you the reusable raw link — the one you can paste into Google Calendar now and anywhere else later.
Switch to calendar.google.com — on a computer, or in your phone's browser. Google only lets you subscribe to a SportsEngine link from the website. The Google Calendar app on your phone has no place to paste one. If the phone is all you've got, open calendar.google.com in Safari or Chrome and, if the mobile layout hides the sidebar, use the browser's Request Desktop Site option.
Click + beside "Other calendars", choose From URL, paste the SportsEngine link. The + is in the left sidebar. From URL opens a single text box — paste the link you copied from Sync Schedule and click Add calendar. Google occasionally refuses an address that begins with webcal://; if yours does, edit that prefix to https:// and add it again.
Turn the new calendar on in the phone app. Your games appear on the web almost immediately. For the phone app, open its Settings, find the SportsEngine calendar listed under your Google account, and make sure Sync is switched on; until it is, the calendar exists in your account but stays off the phone.
MySE is a member account, not a team page: its Schedule tab lists every team and event you're registered for, and Sync Schedule sits on that tab. The link it hands you, though, is one team's feed. In Google that means a family with two kids on SportsEngine repeats the trip — two Sync Schedule links, two From URL pastes, two calendars to color — and Google never notices when the two put games at the same hour. That is exactly where Schedule Caddie's merge earns its keep: paste each link once and every SportsEngine team lands on one calendar, color-coded, with the collisions flagged.
Google treats a SportsEngine subscription as something to check back on, not something to watch. It re-reads the link on its own schedule, usually once in any 12-to-24-hour window, and when a game has moved it quietly rewrites the entry with no notice to you. There is no refresh button for subscribed calendars. So the timeline is: the organization updates MySE this morning, Google notices sometime before tomorrow, and you find out whenever you next look. Schedule Caddie reads the same link every hour and emails you the old time and the new one, which turns Google into the display and the email into the warning.
Paste the link into Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or Outlook and it works — each SportsEngine link is easy to get from MySE, but it covers one team, so two kids means two subscriptions before you've left SportsEngine. The friction stacks from there: the club on a different app is a third, the school calendar is a PDF Google can't subscribe to at all, and when two of your kids' games collide on a Saturday, Google draws them side by side and says nothing.
The SportsEngine steps I found online don't match what I'm seeing
You're likely reading pre-October-2025 instructions. The current flow is MySE Schedule tab → Sync Schedule → Other Calendar → Copy, not a separate organization website.
I can't find Sync Schedule
Make sure you're signed into your personal MySE account (the one tied to your email), not just browsing your organization's public team page — Sync Schedule lives inside the logged-in Schedule tab, top-right.
I clicked the Google button in SportsEngine instead of Copy — is that wrong?
Not wrong, just less reusable. The Google shortcut hands the schedule to Google for you, but you never see the link itself. If you later want the same schedule on a spouse's calendar, an iPhone, or in Schedule Caddie, go back to Sync Schedule, choose Other Calendar → Copy, and paste that link wherever it needs to go.
Google added the calendar but it's empty, or shows a different season
First scroll forward: a season that hasn't been published yet shows as nothing at all, not as an error. Then check which team you copied the link for — a Sync Schedule link is one team's feed, so if your MySE Schedule tab lists the current season's team alongside last season's, make sure the link came from the current one.
A rescheduled game shows the new time in MySE but the old time in Google
Google re-reads subscribed calendars on its own timetable, generally once every 12 to 24 hours, and nothing you click will hurry it. The SportsEngine side is already correct; Google's copy is just stale. If you need to hear about changes the day they happen, Schedule Caddie reads the same Sync Schedule link every hour and emails you the old time and the new one.
Use the Google button if you want the schedule in exactly one Google account and never anywhere else. Use Other Calendar → Copy if there's any chance you'll want the link a second time — for another family member's Google Calendar, an iPhone, or Schedule Caddie. The raw link is the same feed either way; copying it just means you don't have to come back to MySE to get it again.
Probably not. SportsEngine restructured the flow in October 2025, but links generated the old way generally keep working — you just won't find the same menu if you go looking for it again. If your Google calendar is still filling in with current games, leave it alone. If it has gone quiet, generate a fresh link through MySE and swap it in.
Two. Your MySE account lists every team you registered, but Sync Schedule gives you one link per team — so copy a link for each kid's team and add each to Google as its own calendar, which also lets you give them different colors. Or paste both links into Schedule Caddie, which merges them into one calendar and flags the Saturdays where the two collide.
Because the app has no way to add a calendar from a URL — subscribing by address is a website-only feature. You can still complete the whole job on a phone by using the browser for the Google half; once the calendar exists in your account, the app shows it like any other.
No. Google updates the entry quietly on its next refresh, and nothing flags it as changed. If you want to be told, Schedule Caddie watches the same SportsEngine feed every hour and emails you what moved — new time, old time, which team.
At calendar.google.com, hover over it in the left sidebar and click the X, or open its settings and choose Unsubscribe. The MySE link stays valid, so you can add it back whenever you like.
