Teamworks is different from the usual team apps: there's no calendar link to copy. Instead, Teamworks Hub connects to iCloud directly and writes the schedule into a calendar that shows up on your iPhone. The mechanism is solid — the two things that trip people up are that setup is web-only, and that Apple insists on an app-specific password for the connection.
This guide walks both, including the two-minute app-password detour, plus the fine print about the first sync.
Know what Teamworks gives you — there is no link to copy. Stop hunting for an iCal or webcal URL in Teamworks Hub; there isn't one. Instead, Hub connects to your iCloud account and writes events into a calendar you choose, which then appears on your iPhone like any other iCloud calendar.
First, create an app-specific password for iCloud. Apple will not let Teamworks sign in with your normal Apple ID password. Go to account.apple.com (sign in), open Sign-In and Security → App-Specific Passwords, and generate one — name it something like "Teamworks." Copy it; you'll paste it in a moment.
Open Teamworks Hub on the web. Calendar sync is a web-only feature — you can't set it up from the phone app. Sign in at your organization's Teamworks Hub on a computer.
Go to Calendar, then Settings → Sync Settings → Get Started. Navigate to the Calendar, select Settings, then Sync Settings, then Get Started. Any Teamworks user can sync their own calendar — you do not need staff or admin rights.
Choose iCloud and sign in with the app-specific password. Pick iCloud as the calendar type, enter your Apple ID email, and use the app-specific password you generated — not your regular password.
Point it at a dedicated calendar, then Save. Select the specific iCloud calendar Teamworks should write into. Point it at a calendar of its own rather than your main personal one — this sync runs both ways, so keeping it separate protects your personal events. Review, then Save. The first sync can take up to 24 hours.
Check your iPhone. Open the Calendar app, tap Calendars at the bottom, and make sure the destination calendar is ticked. Once the first sync completes, practices and schedule changes appear there on their own.
Paste the link into Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or Outlook and it works — and for a single athlete's schedule it works well. The squeeze comes when that athlete has siblings on TeamSnap and GameChanger teams: now you're running three different sync mechanisms into three separate calendars, and none of them warn you when two events land at the same hour.
iCloud rejects my password during setup
You're using your normal Apple ID password — Teamworks needs an app-specific one. Generate it at account.apple.com under Sign-In and Security → App-Specific Passwords, and use that instead.
I can't find Sync Settings anywhere
You're probably in the Teamworks phone app — calendar sync is web-only. Sign in to your organization's Hub in a browser on a computer and look under Calendar → Settings.
Nothing has appeared on my iPhone yet
The first sync can genuinely take up to 24 hours. If it's been longer, open the Calendar app → Calendars and confirm the destination calendar is ticked — events may be arriving into a calendar that's simply hidden.
Teamworks events are mixed into my personal calendar
You pointed the sync at your main calendar. Go back to Sync Settings and switch the destination to a dedicated iCloud calendar — because the sync is two-way, keeping it separate also keeps your personal events out of it.
It's Apple's security policy for any third-party service that connects to iCloud: rather than handing Teamworks your real password, you issue a limited one you can revoke anytime at account.apple.com without touching your Apple ID.
Not comfortably — the Teamworks side is web-only, so you need a browser session at your organization's Hub, realistically on a computer. The good news: it's one-time. After setup, everything arrives on your iPhone automatically through iCloud.
After the first sync (up to 24 hours), changes flow through the direct connection — generally faster than a subscribed URL feed. But Apple Calendar never notifies you that something changed; the event just quietly moves. If you want an actual heads-up, Schedule Caddie can watch the schedule and email you exactly what changed.
