How to Sync Your PlayMetrics Schedule to a Calendar

PlayMetrics is a club operating system rather than a team app — competitive soccer clubs run registration, rostering, scheduling, and billing through it, and parents get pulled in as Player Contacts. That's why the calendar link isn't attached to a team page the way it is in TeamSnap or GameChanger: it hangs off your account, and it's issued per player.

The good news is that PlayMetrics already merges your kids for you inside its own Calendar view, so if both your players are in the same club you'll see everything in one place. The catch arrives at sync time — the subscription link covers one player, so a two-player family walks away with two feeds.

PlayMetrics is also unusually honest about the limits of calendar subscriptions. Their own help article warns that a synced calendar may not always be current, because Google and Apple only pull feed updates periodically. Worth holding onto — it's the whole reason a moved practice can catch you out.

Get your PlayMetrics calendar link

  1. 1

Sign in to PlayMetrics and open Calendar. Sign in with your Player Contact account — the parent-side login your club set up. On a computer, Calendar sits in the left-hand menu; on a phone, tap the menu icon first. Either way you land on a consolidated calendar showing every player attached to your account.

  2. 2

Select Sync Calendar. The Sync Calendar button lives on that Calendar page. It's the one place PlayMetrics hands out subscription links — there's no separate export option buried in account settings.

  3. 3

Choose which player you're subscribing to. Even though the Calendar view merges all your kids, the subscription itself is per player. Pick one now; if you have two players in the club, you'll run this again for the second.

  4. 4

Choose Full Calendar or Games Only, then copy the hyperlink. Full Calendar includes practices and club events as well as games; Games Only strips it down to match days. PlayMetrics will either walk you into your calendar app or show you a copyable hyperlink — take the hyperlink.

  5. 5

Paste the link into Schedule Caddie. That player's games and training land on your unified calendar next to whatever your other kid's team uses, and we re-check the feed daily.

How to sync PlayMetrics to Google Calendar

The hyperlink from Sync Calendar is a standard subscribable feed, so it works the same way in Google Calendar or on an iPhone:

  1. 1

On Google Calendar (desktop or web). Go to Settings → Add calendar → From URL, paste the PlayMetrics link you copied above, then click Add calendar.

  2. 2

On iPhone (Apple Calendar). Go to Settings → Apps → Calendar → Calendar Accounts → Add Account → Other → Add Subscribed Calendar, and paste the same link. (On older iOS versions, Calendar appears directly in Settings.)

That link will show you every event PlayMetrics publishes for that player. What it won't do is tell you when one moves — and PlayMetrics says as much themselves. Google and Apple only check subscribed feeds every so often, sometimes a full day behind, and neither sends a notification when a training session shifts inside that window. Schedule Caddie watches the same PlayMetrics feed every day and emails you the moment something changes, so you find out from us instead of finding out at the field.

What you can do with that link

Subscribe directly

Paste the link into Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or Outlook and it works — you're subscribing once per player, and PlayMetrics only knows about the one club that runs on it. A sibling on a GameChanger baseball team, a school team, or a second club is nowhere in that feed — which means two or three calendars to keep checking.

Paste into Schedule Caddie

  • PlayMetrics plus every other kid's team app, merged into one calendar
  • Color-coded by kid or team so you can tell at a glance
  • Email alerts the moment a game or practice changes
  • A weekly digest so nothing slips through

If something's not working

Only one of my kids' schedules came through

Expected — the Calendar page merges your players, but Sync Calendar issues one link per player. Go back and repeat the sync for each child, or paste each link into Schedule Caddie and let it merge them for you.

I don't see Calendar in the menu

On a phone it's behind the menu icon rather than a visible sidebar. If it's still missing, check which role you're signed in as — PlayMetrics accounts can hold several roles (coach, club admin, Player Contact), and you may need to switch to your Player Contact role first.

My subscribed calendar is showing an old game time

PlayMetrics says this themselves in their help article: subscribed calendars may not always be in sync, because Google and Apple only pull feed updates periodically. The feed is right; your calendar app just hasn't re-read it yet.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between Full Calendar and Games Only?

Full Calendar gives you everything PlayMetrics has for that player — games, training sessions, and club events. Games Only narrows it to match days. Most parents want Full Calendar; practices are the thing that moves most often.

Can I sync more than one player?

Yes, but one at a time. PlayMetrics shows all your players together inside its own Calendar view, then hands out a separate subscription link per player, so a two-player family ends up with two feeds to manage.

Do I need the PlayMetrics app, or can I use a browser?

Either. The Calendar page and its Sync Calendar button exist in both — the only difference is that on desktop Calendar is in the left-hand menu, and on mobile it's behind the menu icon.

Can I combine PlayMetrics with my other kid's teams?

Not within PlayMetrics — it only knows about the club that runs on it, so a sibling's GameChanger baseball team or a middle-school schedule is invisible to it. Schedule Caddie is built for exactly that: paste the PlayMetrics link and the other links in, and every kid shows up on one color-coded calendar.

How do I sync PlayMetrics to Google Calendar?

Copy the hyperlink from Sync Calendar on the Calendar page (steps above), then in Google Calendar go to Settings → Add calendar → From URL and paste it in. On an iPhone, go to Settings → Apps → Calendar → Calendar Accounts → Add Account → Other → Add Subscribed Calendar and paste the same link (on older iOS versions, Calendar appears directly in Settings).

Will I know if a PlayMetrics game time changes after I subscribe?

Not on your own. PlayMetrics is upfront that Google and Apple only pull subscribed feeds periodically, and neither one notifies you when a game or training session moves — you'd have to open your calendar and happen to notice. Schedule Caddie re-checks the same PlayMetrics feed every day and emails you exactly what changed.
